Tori Beechum
Photographer
Tori Beechum, local photographer and business owner, once bowled a 278. Not only has she bowled a 278, but she was an All-State bowler in high school. EdibleOKC contributors are unique in many ways, but few of them are known for their performance in the world of competitive sports. After achieving such heights, she obtained an associate’s degree in journalism from Rose State College and then a BA in Public Relations from OU, where she first picked up a camera in a photojournalism class. Tori has opened and managed a successful open mic poetry venue, Ordinary People Lounge, a restaurant, Bistro 46, two iterations of her coffee shop, Culture Coffee, and maintained her photography business throughout, all by age 30. Of the skills that got her to this point, it's the ability to communicate that she developed at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City. It was her first time learning how to communicate with a truly diverse group of people and adapt to a changing environment. She's shot portraits, covers, and food photography for edibleOKC.
